  • Very clean and well maintained example

  • Advisory free MOT through to April 2026
  • Comes to us from long term ownership

Launched in 1968, the super stylish Opel GT was a rare car in the UK when new – and so to find such a tidy, well maintained and unspoiled example as this is a bonus !

With receipts dating back to the 80s for work carried out over the years, it is clear that this car has been cherished, and as such it presents very well both internally and externally.

This particular car was featured in Classic & Sports Car magazine in 2010 when it was pitted against a Triumph TR6. Clearly inspired by the styling of the Corvette Stringray and only available as left hand drive, the Kamm tail with the quartet of round rear lights and quarter bumpers is pure Corvette C3.

This example was imported into the UK in 1985 from California, and it appears it was allocated with a Q reg plate (Q887 VAM) prior to being re registered with an age specific ‘L’ reg suffix in 2010. It appears from the file and sheaf of invoices that the engine was rebuilt in 1987, although the registration number quoted at the top of the invoice is incorrect. There are additional invoices on file for work over the years, many of which are in the name of the present owner. We also understand that the car is running a Weber carb which has replaced the original Stromberg carb set up.

Owned since 2009, the vendor is now selling the car only due to lack of use - and the MOT history over the last few years backs this up.

The car comes with the benefit of an advisory free MOT through to April 2026, even though the car is now correctly registered as Historic – and hence it is tax and MOT exempt.

Overall a super example that has been loved and cherished by the vendor. Don’t miss out !!
