A rare garage find, this imposing vehicle is based on Land Rover chassis with GRP body and was converted by Carmichael.

Nicknamed the Moon Buggy due to its looks, it is believed this particular example was initially stationed at Dolgellau, North Wales until being replaced by a newer vehicle in 1978, at which point it was relocated to Pwllheli and re registered as KSU 928.

Upon its sale in 1988, the original registration number was re allocated – and this is the one the vehicle now wears.

The vehicle comes with a large amount of fire brigade / resuce paraphanalia including hoses, helmets, inflatable mats, spare tyres, and a small water pump driven by a Coventry Climax engine (believed to be from a Hillman Imp). There are ladders on the roof as well and additional hoses.

The Land Rover has not been run for a number of years and hence should be treated as a project. Notwithstanding this, it has the basis of creating something very special and exciting - either leave it as it as and use and improve it over time or conversion to a camper - the choice is yours !! Importantly, the bulkhead appears to be in good condition and it appears to be running a 2.25 litre engine, as opposed to the 6 litre engine stated on the HPi report.

The V5c is awaited from the vendor and will hopefully be with us before the auction and unfortunately the keys have been lost.
