We are honoured to offer this stunning Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 finished in Blue Ribot with Crema interior. The Ferrari was originally destined for its first owner who ordered the car, but due to circumstance it became a demonstrator on 28/4/1969 for the Concessioners who at the time were Maranello of Egham, Surrey. There is a lot of lovely correspondence between the gentleman who bought the car and a Mr M Salmon at Ferrari detailing many things, including the car going back for small adjustments. A charming and irreplaceable piece of history for any car. It also comes with copies of the original build sheets from Ferrari, letters direct from Ferrari in Italy showing delivery of the car into the UK and paperwork relating to the sale of the car.
The service and maintenance history is simply outstanding, going back to the early correspondence all the way through to the latest history. This includes details of the rebuild at Graypaul Ferrari in Nottingham, bills in excess of £150,000 and photographs showing some of the restoration process. To top this off, the car has gained the much sought after ‘Classiche Certification’ which states:
“Ferrari Classiche herby certifies that, subject to the qualifications as outlined in the enclosed technical file, if any, the following car is authentic.”
It is accompanied by a beautiful folder containing Certificate of Authenticity, car badge, details of the car and the process and procedure it had to go through to achieve this much sought after but not often gained qualification. To complement all this, there is a letter from Tony Willis of Maranello Concessionaires Archive which states the following.
“Ref. Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 Chassis 12149
Engine Number 12149GT-N/I 888
Gearbox Number 357
Axle Number 361
We confirm the above right hand drive Ferrari was manufactured by Ferrari SpA, Maranello, Italy in September 1968 for the UK importer Maranello Concessionaires.
The original order was Blue Ribot 2.443.631 with Beige VM3282 hide, Dark Blue carpets, Air Conditioning, and Alloy Wheels.
Originally ordered for a client, but not taken, the car was registered ‘XPL 8G’ by Maranello Concessionaires for use as a demonstration car.”
The Ferrari has recently been serviced and is 1 of 150 cars worldwide, but this is probably the best on the market today, with its history, condition, rebuild, driveability and the fact that it is a UK RHD supplied Ferrari.
