First registered in Leicester, this UK-supplied 1971 Triumph TR6 featuring the desirable CP chassis code, was originally finished in Saffron yellow, a colour that was changed in 1977 to Bright orange and then changed again in 1988 to its current shade of Pimento Red. All changes were advised to the DVLA.

The history files, not just one, but at least two are hefty to say the least, and contain photographs, detailed explanations of ownership and all work carried out during the restoration that took place from 2012 to 2015, plus a mountain of parts invoices that you must see. There can’t be a TR parts supplier in the country that hasn’t had some input into this example.

The TR6 drives extremely well, pulls strongly and rides well. However, it is putting out a bit of smoke - we are not mechanics but would suspect valve stem oil seals to be the culprit, not a difficult fix for those who know what they are doing. The bodywork could do with a little attention, no rust that we can see, just a detailing of the paintwork would probably suffice. The interior is in good shape sporting the popular option of Mazda MX-5 seats plus a Moto Lita steering wheel. The hood shows no signs of damage. Minilite-style alloy wheels complete the picture.

Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to digest the rather large history files.
