A rare car when it was new, with only 578 being produced solely for the UK market and we believe that there are less than 20 remaining on our roads today.

The limited run of Giugiaro Storms were built by Karmann in Osnabrück, rather than at Wolfsburg where the majority of VWs were produced, and boasted leather trimmed Recaro sports seats with matching door cards, leather bound steering wheel, Zender front spoiler and wooden gear knob.

Our example is finished in Light Blue metallic with Navy leather interior. The paintwork would seem to be original and shows only age related marks and, thankfully, no signs of rust. The leather is also in good shape with only some wear on the driver’s seat bolster, but no tears or rips. Unfortunately the boot carpet has a small ‘bald patch’ where it looks like something has been spilt.

This is a car that could be used and enjoyed straight away, but given time, effort and a bit of elbow grease, could be turned into something really special. It needs a good in depth clean, especially under the bonnet and to the interior. A period radio, or should that be a radio cassette, would finish off the dashboard, you get the gist, with comparatively little expense and some TLC you would have a rare gem.
