After many years in the doldrums, the Stag market has now become fairly buoyant with many cars achieving well in excess of £20,000. To be fair, this isn’t one of them, at least not yet!

Previous owners have spent lots and lots of money on this example over many years, a fact that is borne out by the many receipts and invoices that can be viewed in the history file. If you are planning on coming to view our Stag, and you should, allow yourself plenty of time to plough through the paperwork. You’ll find bills for everything from clips that hold on the Triumph badge to a replacement engine - it was running a Rover V8 for a while then in 1988 returned to the appropriate Triumph 3.0-litre. A lot of these bills are handwritten from the Stag Owner’s Club and hark back to a bygone age.

‘CWA728M’ needs some help, it is far from a basket case and could, with a little bit of fettling, be useable quite quickly. The level of restoration is entirely up to you and your bank account.

There are some spares in the boot, chrome trims, electrical bits and pieces and a new vinyl cover for the passenger seat.
